It was sevens across the board in both recoveries and new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Sask Health Authority’s April 7 update.

The SHA announced that the total number of recoveries is climbing closer to the century mark. The increase of seven puts the total at 88.

The additional seven new cases bumps that total up to 260, though 169 of them are considered active cases.

The number of hospitalized residents increased from four to seven as well. Two are still in ICU, with five now receiving inpatient care.

For the third-straight day, there are still 15 cases that have been reported in the south region of the province. The remainder can be found on the provided chart from the Government of Saskatchewan website:

The 20-44 age range still holds the most cases with 112. Another 92 have been in the 45-64 range, 43 are in the 65-plus range, with 13 cases now in individuals 19-and-under.

Meanwhile, 115 of the cases are related to travel. Community contact/mass gatherings have been the case in 80 cases, 13 have no know exposures, while the remaining 52 are still under investigation.

The provincial government announced that Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab will not be providing further comment on today’s update.
