New School Bus Garage is "On Time and On Budget"

Swift Current school buses will have a new garage to call home coming this fall. The new garage will hopefully be open for use by the end of October.

Full Media Scrum with Liam Choo-Foo "Bus garage is on budget and on time," said Chinook School Board Director Liam Choo-Foo. "We're really pleased with that because the deadline is to be able to be move into the new facility before the snow flies. Obviously it's going to make it a lot easier transition if we are able to do that."

Plans for the old bus garage have not been set in stone yet and the school board is looking at a couple different options including renting, leasing, selling or just demolishing the old garage.

"We will have to work on that one," added Choo-Foo. "Whether it's going to be a disposal in terms of a sale, or leasing opportunity, or rental opportunity. I think we just have to let the market sort of advise us on that."

Demolishing the garage is another option being looked at.
