New SMARTboard for Emergency Operations Centre

The City of Swift Current has received a grant under the federal government's Joint Emergency Preparedness Program.

A new $6000 SMARTboard is being installed at the Emergency Operations Centre with half of the funding coming from the Joint Emergency Preparedness Program.

"The SMARTboard gives you the ability to put maps, video and live camera shots from a scene right onto the board so people from the EOC can see what's going on" City Fire Chief explained about the new board. "It also has the ability to save anything you write on the board, so if you do any drawings you can just push a button and everything is saved for future use."

He added the board serves many purposes, particularily for training and reviewing entries after they're done.
