A Swift Current man facing drug-related charges in connection with the drug busts that took place in Swift Current and area on September 25th of last year has been sentenced in Provincial Court.

     Fifty-one-year-old Kenneth Nicholson was charged with trafficking cannabis marijuana, careless storage of a firearm, and one breach charge.

     On two separate occasions in August of last year, Nicholson sold half an ounce of marijuana to two undercover police officers.  A search warrant was executed at a later date, and a rifle was found carelessly stored in his residence.

     Nicholson was sentenced to serve 12 months' incarceration for the trafficking charge, and he must pay a $400 fine for careless storage of the firearm.  He is also not allowed to possess any firearms, and he must provide a DNA sample.
