Nielsen Passes Away

Saskatchewan born actor and comedian Leslie Nielsen is dead at the age of 84.

Nielsen, who was born in Regina, passed away Sunday at a hospital near his Ft. Lauderdale, Florida home where he was being treated for pneumonia.

He became well known for his roles as bumbling detective Frank Drebin in "The Naked Gun" movies and as the hapless doctor in "Airplane".

Nielsen has stars on both Hollywood's and Canada's Walk of Fame and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2002.
