The Swift Current Fire Department were called into action on Sunday afternoon after a vehicle erupted with flames at the intersection of Highway #1 and Highway #4.

Fire Chief of the Swift Current Fire Department, Ryan Hunter, stated that once the call came in, firefighters responded in under five minutes.

"The call came in at 13:17 and our firefighters were on scene at 13:21:40, so it took about 3 minutes and 40 seconds for us to get there," he elaborated.

Once on scene, crews pulled out the hoses and sprayed the blaze with foam to extinguish the fire.

Hunter also added that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

"It was a single vehicle that had caught itself on fire, and that part is under investigation," he elaborated. "I have no information on that at this time."

No one was injured as a result of the fire.
