Refrain from visiting the Palliser Care Centre.

Those words coming from the Cypress Health Region, as 17 residents have contracted the Norwalk Virus.

Trent Regier is Director of Population Health for the Cypress Health Region. He says it's crucial visitors stay away during this time. He says the facility is on the upswing, but visitors will be restricted from entering until residents of the facility, as well as the staff, show no sign of the sickness for 48 hours.

Regier adds if you are experiencing any out-of-the-ordinary nausea or vomiting symptoms, contact your family physician.

If you have questions regarding the Norwalk Virus, you are asked to contact Public Health at 778-5280.
