A fall snowfall has hit the southwest.

Light snow is expected throughout today, and temperatures will remain below freezing through tomorrow before warming up back to normal later this week.

The snowfall has left streets and highways in the southwest in a very slippery condition, and Lisa Wilson-Sturm with CAA Saskatchewan is advising drivers to stay safe on the roads today.

So far, it appears drivers are taking care on the first snowfall of the season. Swift Current City RCMP are reporting no major traffic accidents in the city caused by the weather conditions; however, Rural RCMP were called to Highway 1 this morning east of Gull Lake near Southwest Terminal, where three semis hit the ditch, and another truck wound up on its side in the median. No injuries have been reported.
