The deadline to apply for an exciting new job opportunity in the southwest is rapidly approaching, with only one day left to apply for the position of project manager at the Trans-Canada Visitor Reception Centre near Maple Creek.

This new program aims to develop a tourism hub and strengthen the economy in the southwest, thanks to the Rural Opportunities Fund and Community Futures Southwest.

Lindsay Alliban, economic and development officer for the Town of Gull Lake and the Village of Hazlet, encourages those who are considering the position to apply while they still have time.

"We need a motivated and enthusiastic person to apply for this position to help us with this very unique and new initiative," she said.

The community stakeholders include the Town of Maple Creek, the City of Swift Current, Cypress Grasslands Destination Area, and more.

"It's a two-year contract position and it has great compensation," added Alliban. "I think it will be a good opportunity for anyone to be part of the great group of people that we have working on this."

Anyone interested in this position can visit the Community Futures Southwest website for the application link or email the general manager of Community Futures Southwest at kthompson@scsdc.com before May 10.
