A chorus of opposition is growing to BHP Billiton's proposed $38.6 billion hostile bid for Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan.

The federal Liberals added their voice yesterday on a deal that Premier Brad Wall says won't benefit his province or the country.

Deputy Liberal Leader and long-time Regina MP Ralph Goodale said the party can't support BHP's takeover bid, and urged the Stephen Harper government to also reject the deal.

The Saskatchewan NDP is also calling on the province's representatives in Ottawa to block the deal.

The Saskatchewan government will formally announce it's decision on the BHP bid later today.

Federal Industry Minister Tony Clement is reviewing the bid, and Prime Minister Harper has said Saskatchewan's opinions will weigh heavily on their final decision.
