A man and woman from Manitoba wanted after a Swift Current theft have been arrested in Alberta.

Jordan Harkness-Brown, a 23-year-old male, and Robyn Boersma, a 32-year-old female, were arrested last week by the Redcliff Integrated Traffic Unit after police ran the license plates on a vehicle on Highway 1.

Corporal Perry Pelletier of the Swift Current City RCMP said it stemmed from a theft of over $5,000 that occurred at a business along the North Service Road on March 14.

"As a result of that investigation, two suspects were identified along with the vehicle," Pelletier said. "A day or two later, that vehicle was subsequently located in Alberta travelling along Highway 1. Some Redcliff Traffic Service Members were on patrol and happened to get a hit on the license plate of that particular vehicle, which resulted in the arrest for the two individuals in the vehicle along with an amount of property, weapons, drugs I believe, and a large amount of cash, which was seized."

The individuals face charges laid by the Alberta RCMP, and Pelletier said Saskatchewan Justice is looking to bring them back to Swift Current to answer charges here afterwards.

"They stole a license plate, they had a Manitoba plate on it on the jeep, and I guess when they hit Saskatchewan, somewhere in the Carlyle area, they switched it out for a Saskatchewan plate," said Pelletier. "So they stole it off another vehicle matching the one that they found already... they had the stolen Saskatchewan plate on them the whole time."

Amongst charges, both Boersma and Harkness-Brown are charged with theft over $5,000 for the incident in Swift Current.
