Yesterday the Saskatchewan Progressive Conservative Party leadership convention will be held November 3, 2018.

Rick Swenson is on his way out of the party after serving as leader or interim leader for over 12 years.

Swenson said he plans to support their next candidates with their ideas on dealing with the province's debt, grain transportation, and investigation into the GTH land deal.

The party has been without a seat in legislature since 1999.

Party President Grant Schmidt said he's grateful for what Swenson's done for the party, and that more details on how the search for the new leader have yet to be finalized.
