Two planned power outages will leave two different areas of southwestern Saskatchewan in the dark this afternoon.

The bigger outage will be in the Sceptre area, including the community itself, with 88 customers losing power from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

"They're building a new line in the community to improve service there," SaskPower Spokesperson Joel Cherry said. "The outage there is necessary to put that new line into service."

The second outage just east of Swift Current along Airport Road will begin at 12:30 p.m. spanning until 4:30 p.m.

"It's to replace a few power poles," he said. "That's going to affect 34 customers. It's relatively small."
