The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation announced this morning all teachers across Sask. will be headed to the picket lines the same day the provincial budget is released.

Teachers will also withdraw from extracurricular activities on Thursday and Friday following the one-day strike.

“Government’s unwillingness to work with teachers in finding any path forward has forced this decision, which will impact students and communities both big and small across the province,” said STF President Samantha Becotte.

Around 4,000 teachers are expected to converge at the Legislative Building on Wednesday in Regina for the one-day strike. The remainder of the teachers will protest in localized locations.

The STF stated in the release that over a quarter-million emails and phone calls have been made to MLAs, school board trustees, and leadership of the Saskatchewan School Boards Association since January.
