Saskatchewan RCMP have released their updated COVID-19 calls for service statistics to the end of November, and the vast majority were resolved by educating individuals about the Public Health Orders and handing out warnings rather than punishment.

Total numbers since the Public Health Orders came into effect amount to 3,300 COVID related calls for service, of which only 49 resulted in charges being laid.

In November, there were 342 calls.

  • 128 complaints of individuals failing to self-isolate;
  • 92 large gathering complaints;
  • 20 masking complaints;
  • 14 traveller check complaints; and
  • 88 other COVID related complaints.

Of those complaints, only 7 individuals were charged under the Province's Public Health Orders for contravening Sec. 61 of the Public Health Act; four charged with not self-isolating and three for large gatherings.

In Swift Current, Municipal RCMP responded to 4 calls in the month of November, including a report of a United States License plate, a self-isolation check-in from a traveller returning from out-of-country,  a potential gathering of 10 people and a refusal to wear a mask at a local business.
