2009 was a record year for non-residential construction in Saskatchewan.

     The latest numbers from Stats Canada show the province had the highest percentage increase in the fourth quarter of 2009, totalling $402.8 million.  That's a 17.8% increase over the same period in 2008.

     Nationally, non-residential construction was down 7.9% in the fourth quarter.

     Through the year, there was $1.5 billion in non-residential construction in Saskatchewan, which was an all-time high since records were first kept in 1997.
