Natural gas rates may be dropping next week.
The Rate Review Panel recommended SaskEnergy's request to decrease the commodity rate to $5.96 per gigajoule effective April 1.
That is a 21.2% drop on the average household customer's gas bill.
Last fall, SaskEnergy raised their rates by around that same amount, when the trading rate for natural gas was at near-record highs.
The decrease needs approval from the provincial cabinet before it can take effect.
