The SPCA has just received a sizable sum courtesy of a recently opened auto shop.

Revolution Automotive, a locally owned and operated shop held a barbecue on Friday to raise funds for critters in need and introduce themselves to the community. The cookout generated a total of $1,310 for the SPCA.

Brandi Baron is the co-owner of the shop and one of the event’s key organizers.

“We wanted to introduce ourselves and get our names out there, and associate who we are as individuals,” stated Baron. “I think that was very inclusive with getting the SPCA involved.”

Baron has a very personal commitment to animals, as she happens to own five rescue pets herself. Halfway through the event, Baron estimated 150 people came out to show their support.

“It’s gone amazing. Small-town support has been incredible... the support has been substantial, and the donations have been substantial,” she said.

Those who attended the event and donated to the cause were entered for a chance to win an oil change, a wheel alignment, or some Revolution Automotive merchandise.

The location is a full automotive shop, that provides almost all automotive services and repairs, along with carrying a large selection of tires and OEM or aftermarket parts.
