A robbery with a firearm that took place last Friday evening in Maple Creek has resulted in a thread of charges, and officers searching for two individuals involved.

A warrant has been issued for Virgil Mosquito’s arrest and Maple Creek RCMP are working to locate him. He is described as approximately 5-foot-eight, weighing roughly 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, with a tattoo below his left eye.

The 38-year-old's charges include one count robbery with a firearm, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of possess weapon contrary to order, and
one count resist arrest.

Members of the public are asked to report sightings of Mosquito; he may be in the Maple Creek area.

The other individual is a male youth who is charged with one count robbery with a firearm. A warrant has been issued for his arrest as well, and Maple Creek RCMP are actively working to locate him. However, they can't provide any identifying information due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Officers responded immediately to a call on August 25, and determined three males, one of who was armed with a firearm, entered a residence in the town, threatened the occupant, stole a bicycle and fled.

The occupant of the residence did not report physical injuries to police.

Twenty-two-year-old Damon Desjarlais from Maple Creek was arrested in Maple Creek on August 26. He is charged with one count robbery with a firearm, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count, pointing a firearm, and one count of uttering threats. 

He appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on Monday.
