The Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations have tabled a final offer to the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses in hopes of preventing a province-wide nurse's strike.

According to a press release issued this afternoon, the contract makes wages for nurses competitive with Alberta, and provides a raise of close to 35% over four years.

SAHO says they have also addressed recruitment and retention issues for nurses in the province.  In addition, SAHO has requested the nurses union to allow its members the chance to vote on the offer.

SUN has since decided to put the offer to a vote, which is expected to take place in mid-June.
