The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce says they're disappointed the government has put nuclear power on the back burner.

Last week, the government announced they would not pursue the building of a nuclear power plant in the province until at least 2020.

Chamber CEO Steve McLellan says the province didn't have proper discussions with Bruce Power, or anybody on the subject, adding that the bulk of the population said in recent surveys that they want nuclear looked at.

McLellan believes the government said no because they thought it would be too expensive.  He says, in order to replace facilities and electrical infrastructure because the province is growing, they need to make a big investment.  He also points to Sask Power, saying we have to spend $12 billion within the next decade to accommodate growth.
