Over the past couple of weeks, the temperatures have forced some people to enjoy the indoors instead of enjoying the winter season.

However, despite the cold, Saskatchewan In Motion is encouraging people to get active indoors.

"The first thing I would consider is whether it really is too cold," said Kim Herperger, the communication strategist at Saskatchewan In Motion. "Sometimes it's just our perception, and if we do venture out dressed for the weather, we might find out that's it's not so bad. If it truly is too cold, we have a virtual idea jar, and it is full of ideas for all seasons; in addition to ways to get outside in nature, it includes options for when the weather truly is frightful like it is."

Herperger said that there are plenty of other ways to stay active indoors.

"Other ideas include maybe learning a new skill, or set up an indoor obstacle course or scavenger hunt, or pick up an active board game," she said. "The final idea that I would have for people is to visit Push to Play. It's an app by our partner Saskatchewan Blue Cross, and they have the rules for over 100 plus indoor games that might give problems a few ideas to keep the kids busy when it's cold."

Herperger added that for more ideas, people could visit the Saskatchewan In Motion website.
