The 2024-25 Saskatchewan Anglers Guide is now available online and can be accessed or downloaded on phones or other devices. 

The Saskatchewan Anglers Guide contains important information about the regulations, policies, and practices that pertain to recreational fishing in the province. This includes a comprehensive list of waterbodies with specific catch limits and special regulations.  

Physical copies of the Saskatchewan Anglers Guide will be made available at the Ministry of Environment’s field offices where angling licenses are sold, most provincial park offices as well as applicable retail outlets in early May. 

The southern management fishing zone opens on May 5, with the central and northern management zone following on May 15 and 25, respectively.  

Using the guide ensures that anglers are familiar with Saskatchewan’s fishing regulations while serving as a reference for recreational and competitive fishing, including catch-and-release information, preventing the spread of aquatic invasive species, and how to properly store, measure and transport your catch. 

Anglers aged 16 and older are required to purchase an angling license to fish in Saskatchewan, except for Saskatchewan resident seniors age 65+. Saskatchewan and Canadian resident Armed Forces veterans who were honourably discharged are eligible to receive a free angling license, subject to verification. Angling licenses are available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be stored on your digital device.
