With southwest Saskatchewan sitting firmly in the grip of old man winter, camping season can seem a very long way off indeed.

Nevertheless, campers can mark their calendars early, as Saskatchewan provincial parks have announced the 2020 reservation dates for seasonal and nightly camping.

Reservation dates are scheduled to begin on Monday, April 13 for seasonal and Wednesday, April 15 for nightly and camp-easy.

Staggered launch dates and the queuing system will be in place again in 2020 to help manage the volume of site visitors. Reservations will open at 7:00 a.m on the scheduled days, with the queue opening at 6:40 a.m.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, April 13: Seasonal campsites
  • Wednesday, April 15: Pike Lake, The Battlefords, Narrow Hills, Blackstrap
  • Thursday, April 16: Bronson Forest, Meadow Lake, Makwa Lake, Lac La Ronge
  • Friday, April 17: Saskatchewan Landing, Douglas, Danielson
  • Monday, April 20: Buffalo Pound, Rowan’s Ravine, Echo Valley, Crooked Lake
  • Wednesday, April 22: Cypress Hills
  • Thursday, April 23: Duck Mountain, Good Spirit Lake, Greenwater Lake
  • Friday, April 24: Candle Lake, Great Blue Heron, Moose Mountain

Seasonal, nightly and group campsites can be reserved through the online system at saskparks.goingtocamp.com, or by calling 1-855-737-7275.

There are no reported fee changes for 2020. More information on reservations, cancellation, change and no-show fees are available on www.saskparks.com.

The 2020 camping season officially kicks off on Thursday, May 14.
