Saskatchewan has its first swine flu-related death.

The Ministry of Health reported the death this morning on their H1N1 influenza monitor website. They say the deceased, a woman in her 40s, had serious underlying health conditions.  They did not disclose where she lived.

Provincial health officials confirmed late last week that two people in Saskatchewan had serious cases of the H1N1 influenza, and one of them was on a ventilator.

Since the first case was reported in early May, 685 cases of the strain have been confirmed in Saskatchewan.
