SaskPower is warning us of a telemarketing scam.

 

Somebody is contacting SaskPower customers, claiming to be a SaskPower representative, trying to sell a product that claims customers can significantly reduce their power bill.

 

Barb Gilbey with the crown utility says SaskPower wouldn't contact customers in this manner:

 

 

Gilbey says the scammers are asking for anywhere from $100 to $600.  

 

RCMP warn people to be wary of phone scams, saying if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Anyone who receives a suspicious phone call is asked to contact police or crimestoppers.
