SaskTel customers are having trouble getting through to local RCMP detachments and 911. They may not hear a response when placing a call, even if the phone is seemingly answered, or the line may also disconnect.

Saskatchewan RCMP issued a release late last night with instructions for the public.

"In an emergency, call 911. The call may disconnect, but the 911 call-taker will have your phone number and location and can dispatch police," the release read. "If you have trouble getting through to your local police or RCMP Detachment, call 911."

SaskTel is aware of the issue and is working on a solution.

Swift Current Online will provide updates as they become available.
