Students across the Chinook School Division will head back to class next week.

 

Motorists are being reminded to drive with extra caution in school zones, watch for children crossing streets, slow down, and obey posted speed limits in school zones.

 

Corporal Greg Heuer with Swift Current RCMP Traffic Services says people should also remember that school buses will again be rolling in the city and rural areas.  Failing to stop for school buses can result in a hefty fine:

 

 

Heuer adds, under the Traffic Safety Act, failing to yield to a pedestrian at a marked crosswalk is also a $230 fine, and SGI looks at taking points off your license.
