Here in Country Music Radio we were treated to a spur of the moment concert in the studios on Friday April 27. The performer was Manitoba resident and country singer, songwriter Sean Burns. Burns performed at Riverside Motel in Eastend on Thursday and travelled his way to Swift Current early Friday. Sean came into the studio to perform "Have you seen that train" and talk about his passion for country western music and his touring dates in support of the new album he released on March 9 of this year tittle "Music for Taverns, Bars and Honky Tonks." Burns lived away from home while recording this latest album and lived in a cabin recording it. "We recorded it in a cabin 75 minutes north of Winnipeg and lived and did our thing up there for 6 or 7 days and released it on March 9 and have been on the road pretty steady since then."

"I've just loved country music from the time I was very young it was always around the house, and I remember when I was about 5 or 6 years old and Steve Earle record started circulating around the house." Burns then touched on who he aspired after "By the time I was 13 I had dug pretty deep into Bakersfield country music such as Merle Haggard, but on this record we got a little more honky tonk flavour with early Ray Price sound." The album was produced by Grant Siemens who plays guitar for Corb Lund.

On Friday the 27 he performed at Range Line Tavern in Cadillac and will be on and off the road until the current tour is over finishing in Steinbach Manitoba at Diner on 52 on July 28.
