Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for most of the southwest.

Conditions are favourable for developing dangerous thunderstorms that could bring strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain.

According to Environment Canada, a hot, humid, and unstable airmass will lead to the development of slow-moving thunderstorms during the day, some of which could be severe.

Lighting is likely, and tornadoes are a possibility.

Folks are reminded to be prepared for severe weather and take cover if threatening weather approaches.
