SGI and the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union, Local 397, have reached a tentative agreement.

The current collective agreement between SGI and COPE expired on December 31, 2009. The new four-year agreement will expire at the end of 2013, and is still subject to ratification by employees.

The deal includes a 5.5% general wage increase over three years, plus a fourth year at 2%.

Now that the agreement has been reached, COPE has suspended job action and lifted its ban on overtime.
