At the last regular Town Council meeting this past Tuesday October 3rd, Shaunavon Town Council discussed the issue of residents blowing their leaves off their yards and into the streets.

The Town is asking that people refrain from letting the leaves collect on the streets, as with the wind and wet conditions of fall and winter, the leaves tend to cover the storm drains causing the water to back up.

Ron Phillips is the Director of Operations for the Town of Shaunavon. He says leaves should be bagged and taken to the compost pile. "Dump the bags at the compost. There are some bio-degradable bags so you don't have to dump the bags out, but if they're not bio-degradable bags, please dump them out and take your bags and put them in the garbage with the rest of your garbage."

Shaunavon Town Council thanks everyone for their cooperation in working together to prevent water back up throughout the fall and into spring.
