Rain and melting snow followed by freezing temperatures are making roads around southwest Saskatchewan slick.

The majority of the highways around the region are described as icy and slippery by Highway Hotline.

Some of the ice can be blamed on snow melting during the day and becoming re-frozen during the night.

Today's high is 2 C and may be able to clear some ice off of the roads by tonight when the area will have a low of -4 C.

Swift Current is expected to say in the freeze-fall cycle until Monday when temperatures stay in the negatives.
