The Town of Shaunavon is reminding residents about snow removal procedures.

The Town of Shaunavon, after a heavy snowfall, will begin street cleaning early mornings and, traditionally, clear the hospital area, then the airport, then third avenue and Center Street, and then continue to other areas of the community as needed.

Ron Phillips is the Director of Operations for the Town of Shaunavon. He says signs will be posted the night before regarding which areas will be cleared, and residents are asked to please have their vehicles moved off the street. Caution is also advised while crews are working. Phillips says, "When the crew is out cleaning the streets, just be aware that sometimes visibility is poor and give them a little bit of room."

Property owners are also reminded that it is their responsibility to clear snow from their sidewalks, however snow should be shoveled onto property, not into the street.
