The Vegas Golden Knights look to take a 3-0 stranglehold in the Stanley Cup Final when they visit the Florida Panthers in game three of the series tonight in Sunrise.

The Golden Knights outscored the Panthers 12-4 in the first two games of the series. Teams that have taken a 2-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Final have an all-time record of 48-5.

Game four is on Saturday with game five, if needed, back in Vegas on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, game one of the AHL's Calder Cup Final goes tonight with Shaunavon's Kole Lind and the Coachella Valley Firebirds hosting former Swift Current Broncos forward Beck Malenstyn and the Hershey Bears.

Bassitt pitches gem as Jays beat Astros

Bo Bichette and Brandon Belt homered, and Alejandro Kirk hit a tie-breaking pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh inning as the Toronto Blue Jays beat Houston 3-2 Wednesday night at Rogers Centre.

Chris Bassitt had five strikeouts and no walks over eight innings and Jordan Romano got the last three outs for his 16th save of the season.

The series wraps up tonight with Jose Berrios starting for the Jays against Framber Valdez.

Murray, Jokic make history as Nuggets beat Heat

Jamal Murray had 34 points and Nikola Jokic added 32 as the Denver Nuggets beat the Miami Heat 109-94 to take a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Murray (34-10-10) and Jokic (32-21-10) made history as two teammates scored 30-point triple-doubles for the first time in any NBA game, regular season or playoffs.

Game four is Friday in Miami.

CFL season kicks off tonight

A new CFL season begins with a playoff rematch between two new-look teams as the Calgary Stampeders host the BC Lions at McMahon Stadium. 

The Stampeders, with Jake Maier now the number-one quarterback following the departure of Bo Levi Mitchell to Hamilton, will take on a Lions team with Vernon Adams Jr. now under centre after last year's top Canadian Nathan Rourke moved to the NFL in the off-season.

The Lions defeated the Stampeders 30-16 in last season's West Semi-Final.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders play their season opener against the Edmonton Elks on Sunday at Commonwealth Stadium.

Canadians look to end near 70-year drought at PGA's Canadian Open

The RBC Canadian Open, Canada’s only stop on the PGA Tour, tees off today at Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto.

Rory McIlroy is looking for his third consecutive title at the event, while Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes and 17 other Canadian golfers are looking to be the first Canadian to win the men's national open since Pat Fletcher in 1954.
