Steinbach Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash at Maple Creek

A man from Steinbach, Manitoba was killed in a motorcycle collision Monday evening near Maple Creek.

The crash happened at around 6:20pm where a bike travelling in a group lost control on Highway 1 seven kilometres west of the junction of Highway 21. The victim was sent to hospital in Maple Creek but died of his injuries.

RCMP have not identified the victim, but SteinbachOnline.com has learned that it was 63-year-old John Friesen, a prominent businessman in Steinbach who was the owner of Friesen Drillers, Ltd.

Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
