Lyric Phase One Outside

The Lyric Theatre will see another Stir Crazy Blues Festival next week.

With the festival running from Thursday through to Saturday next week, Stir Crazy Blues offers a wide variety of talent in the blues genres.

Cultural Festival Coordinator, Shann Gowan, says David Vest will be kicking off the event on Thursday night.

"He's from Alabama, he lives in Vancouver now, and he is a boogie-woogie, swing-style blues piano player, a little like Jerry Lee Lewis. He's fantastic, he won the Maple Blues Award this year for Best Piano Player in Canada," said Gowan. "On Friday night, I have Nikki Hill coming. She's from down in the southern States, and she does a roots rock n' roll blues with a bit of a southern twist and she has a great stage presence. Then on Saturday the 28th, I have the J.W. Jones Band, and he was just nominated for a Juno. He's a multiple Maple Blues Award winner, and he does a Stevie Ray Vaughan style electric blues, so we'll have three nights of amazing music."

Few season passes are left for $75, and tickets are also available individually at Pharmasave.

Doors open at 7:30pm with the music beginning at 8:30pm each night.
