The first day of summer was marked with several severe thunderstorms moving through the southwest.

Environment Canada ended the severe thunderstorm warnings and watches for the region just after 8:00pm tonight, after a day full of active weather.

Heavy rain, hail, and localized flooding on streets were reported with today's storms.  There were also reports of lightning striking an oil battery near Gull Lake, with biohazard teams called to the scene.

There are still showers and possible thunderstorms forecast in the southwest for the rest of the evening and tomorrow morning.  Conditions are expected to clear up and warm up into the mid- to high-20s later this week.
