For quite some time now, Bella Thomson, a 10-year-old girl from Swift Current, has garnered the attention and devotion of people from all over the world with her incredible resilience and bravery.

Known fondly as Bella Brave, she shows the world life through her lens as a young girl living with three rare health conditions; Hirschsprung's Disease, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency and a form of dwarfism called Cartilage-Hair Hypoplasia.

Just two short weeks after undergoing a life-saving bowel transplant this August, which she'd been patiently waiting for for three years, Bella was visited by a fellow Canadian celebrity.

Ryan Reynolds was at SickKids Toronto filming a commercial for his annual Ugly Sweater Campaign, which fundraises for the hospital, when he expressed a heartfelt desire to meet her.

According to Bella's mom Kyla Thomson, Bella hadn't been feeling up to any visitors--but when she heard Reynolds wanted to meet her, she lit up with excitement.

"It was pretty awesome; we know how busy he is," Kyla said. "We didn't know what to expect. He came in and of course, introduced himself and then he just chatted with Bella for like 10 or 15 minutes, kind of like two old friends having a fun little chat."

Bella was quite familiar with Reynolds from his role in the Pokémon movie, as well as having received two 'ugly sweaters' from him during one of his campaigns a couple of years ago.

They had dived into conversation about her recent transplant, celebrating how the then-nine-year-old could finally eat and walk on her own again.

The duo's exchange wasn't confined to medical matters though; they delved into lighthearted topics, discussing favorite games, toys, and foods. In a display of genuine interest, Bella inquired about Reynolds' daughters, discovering they share a common love for L.O.L Dolls.

When asked what she thought of the experience, Bella exclaimed, "It was awesome!"

In a testament to the power of social media, snippets of their heartwarming conversation were shared on Bella's booming TikTok account, quickly going viral and amassing over 12 million views.

Bella is four months post-op and will soon have her permanent IV line removed, eliminating the life-threatening risk of infection.
