Swift Current's dreams to host the Saskatchewan Summer Games have ended.
The Saskatchewan Games Council have announced Estevan as the host city of the games this afternoon. The Energy City will be hosting for the first time since 1980.
Swift Current was also on the shortlist along with Humboldt and Melfort, and hadn't hosted the Summer Games since 1976.
Estevan will officially be handed the hosting duties after the 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games in Prince Albert this February.
