The Swift Current City Fire Department is celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2010, and they have some special events planned in April to mark it.

Deputy Fire Chief Denis Pilon says the Fire Department will have an open house on April 23rd at the Fire Hall.  During that, Mayor Jerrod Schafer will unveil a plaque to commemorate the centennial.  The following night, they will be hosting a black-tie banquet at the Sky Centre, with details on ticket sales coming soon.

Pilon says they want to make the 100th anniversary a memorable occasion since it only comes once, and they want to do anything they can to mark it this year.
