The first production of the year from the Swift Current Little Theatre will make it's debut tonight.

The SCLT's 2017 spring production, Skin Flick, will take to the stage at Great Plains College this evening at 8 p.m.

"Tonight will be an absolute joy," Chris Martens, who plays Byron Hobbs said. "We're really looking forward to it, we've all worked really hard to get this play off the ground and to get it where it is right now. I can tell you everyone on stage and everyone backstage are excited for tonight."

Tonight's script for the play was written by well-known Canadian playwright Norm Foster.

"Swift Current Little Theatre is very familiar with a lot of Norm Foster's work," Martens stated. "We happily do his plays and we've had a lot of good success with them. This (play) is no stranger to that either, it's a very good play and it's really funny."

Martens, one of the five actors in the play, shared a brief synopsis of the play with the Swift Current Online Newsroom.

"It's about a husband and wife that are down on their luck trying to finds ways to make extra money and an interesting opportunity approaches them," he said. "The rest of the play kind of revolves around that. It's quite entertaining, it's very tastefully done and it's an excellent comedy."

This evening's dinner theatre gets underway at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner portion followed by the performance of the play at 8 p.m.

The play will also be performing on April 1st, 6th and 7th.
