Weekend calls for service November 25 - 27 2022

November 25

4:05 PM - While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Kia Sportage for operating a motor vehicle without valid registration. 

6:52 PM - Report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Battleford Trail and the 114 Highway. The driver of a black Ford F150 had bumped into a grey Chrysler 200 in front of her vehicle despite having her foot on the brake causing minor damage. Police along with the Fire Department and EMS attended the scene. No one was injured as a result of the collision and no charges were laid. The Ford was towed with some suspected mechanical issues. 

9:00 PM - Report of two male youth being assaulted by another male. One of the male youth advised that an unknown male had grabbed him by his sweater and then the youth proceeded to dump a soda onto him. During the investigation, police believed the youth were perhaps not being honest with all of their involvement and after speaking with their parents, determined charges in the matter would not be pursued. 

9:41 PM - Report of a hit and run to the caller's white GMC Terrain. The GMC was westbound on Chaplin Street W when a white, possibly a Buick SUV, proceeded through the intersection on 6th Avenue NW hitting the rear driver's side of the GMC. The other vehicle did not stop and left the area. This matter is still under investigation. 

9:47 PM - Report of a single vehicle collision involving a deer on 6th Avenue SE. Police along with EMS attended the scene. No one was injured as a result of the collision, but the vehicle was required to be towed from the location. Police were also able to locate the deer who didn't appear to be badly injured. 

10:35 PM - Report of a female breaking into a room at a commercial dwelling unit on the 1200 block South Service Road E. The caller did not wish to have charges laid, only wanting the female spoken to. Police located the female, and she was told not to return to that location again. 

November 26

8:15 AM - Report of the caller having four rims and tires stolen from the open box of his truck while parked in a parking lot on the 1100 block of 6th Avenue NE sometime overnight. There are no suspects or witnesses.

11 :13 AM - While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Chrysler Sebring for disobeying a stop sign.

12:18 PM - Report of a male going through garbage bins on the 1400 block of Ashley Drive. Police attended and located the male who was told to stop and to leave the area.

12:36 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on a female after she failed to show up for a scheduled appointment. Before officers were able to attend the female's residence, she made it to her appointment.

12:47 PM - Report of an assault at an establishment on the 1100 block of Central Avenue N. Police attended the business and all involved persons had left prior to their arrival but were able to speak with them later. One adult female was arrested and will be charged with one count of assault, one count of uttering threats and one count of causing a disturbance under the Criminal Code.

1 :27 PM - Report of a female shoplifting from a business on the 900 block of Central Avenue N. This matter is still under investigation.

1 :44 PM - Report of a scam call.

2:49 PM - Report of the caller losing his British Columbia license plate off of his vehicle. He was directed to contact BC licensing to have a new one issued.

2:55 PM - Report of harassment and stalking by the caller's ex-boyfriend. This matter is still under investigation.

4:14 PM - Report of two boys playing on the ice on the creek and the caller was concerned for their safety. Police attended and the boys left the area.

7:26 PM - While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Ford Focus for operating a motor vehicle without valid registration.

7:46 PM - While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a blue Jeep Compass for failing to provide their registration certificate when asked to do so by a police officer.

9:00 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on a male who appeared to be sleeping behind an establishment on the 1600 block of North Service Road E. Police attended and spoke to the male who said he was okay. Police also spoke with employees at the business who were okay with the male staying there.

November 27

12:53 AM - Request to attend a commercial dwelling unit on the 1400 block of Battleford Trail and remove a male who is causing a disturbance over them not having any bottled water. Police attended and the male and his spouse were provided a courtesy ride to another place to stay.

1:15 AM - While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a white Ford F150 for operating a motor vehicle without valid registration.

1:49 AM - 911 call of a suspicious male standing at the caller's back door on the 300 block of Powell Crescent. Police attended and located the male, intoxicated, thinking he was at his friend's house. The male was provided a courtesy ride home by police.

3:06 AM - 911 call of a dispute at a commercial dwelling unit on the 1500 block of South Service Road E. The caller stated there were two individuals outside who appear to be bickering and one hit their window a few times. Police attended and located the two males who were told to return to their rooms.

6:13 AM - Report of a female causing a disturbance, knocking things off the wall at a dwelling unit on the 100 block of 3rd Avenue NE. The female also caused damage to the caller's vehicle. Police were able to arrest the female and she will be charged with one count of mischief under the Criminal Code.

7:01 AM - Report of an alarm at a business on the 2100 block of North Service Road W. Police attended the business and confirmed the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure.

7:27 AM - Report of a female going to the complainant's residence earlier in the morning, knocking over a flowerpot and Christmas decorations. The complainant did not want to have the female charged, she only wished to have the matter documented.

12:03 PM - While on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a white Lexus ES300 for speeding.

6:49 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on a boy sitting on the 2nd Avenue overpass who appears to be crying. Police attended the location and spoke to the boy who said he was cold and did not have a ride home. Police provided him a ride home.

7:05 PM - Report of a grey Dodge Ram driving erratically and running a red light. While officers were making patrols for the vehicle a second call came in of an unresponsive male sitting in a parked Dodge Ram in a parking lot of the 100 block of 21st Avenue NE. Police attended, locating the vehicle and the lone male occupant. The male failed an alcohol screening test and was arrested and will be charged with impaired driving under the Criminal Code.

9:17 PM - 911 call from an elderly female stating that people were trying to "do away with her" and then disconnected the line. Police attended the facility the woman resided at, confirming she was okay. She told police she had been trying to contact family, but the calls wouldn't go through. Officers also spoke with staff at the location who confirmed they would keep an eye on her throughout the night.

9:38 PM - Request to conduct a wellbeing check on a male. Police attended the male's residence where he was located intoxicated and arrested for breach of peace. No charges were laid in relation to the incident and the male was released from police custody once sober.
