The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Traffic Officer Training program produced its first graduates.

Blair Wager, Director of Transport Compliance Branch with the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, says the position is focused on commercial vehicle enforcement in two key areas.  Those areas are commercial vehicle safety and infrastructure protection.

Three Traffic Officers will be stationed in Swift Current, including Kirk Siebert, who is originally from Williams Lake, BC.  He says a lot of experience will help him in his new position.  He was an RCMP member for 24 years, and drove a truck in Alberta after his retirement.  This position seemed like a good opportunity to combine both jobs.  Siebert will start January 5th at the weigh scale west of the city.

Joining him will be Robert Hendry and Brendon Pylatuk, both of Regina.
