The SWT Lyceum Theatre is closing in on its renovation fundraising goals.

Only $25,000 away from the $200,00 total needed, the non-profit cinema has set a start date for renovation in January 2024.

In an attempt to bring in the final few dollars, they are hosting a series of events this holiday season, and running a 50/50 campaign.

Cole Girodat, the general manager of SWT Lyceum Theatre, hopes to see people buying tickets, and enjoying the movies, all to push them over the finish line.

"We have our contractor lined up," said Girodat. "We're just doing one final push for fundraising."

Tickets can be purchased at the SWT Lyceum Theatre, the Innovation Federal Credit Union in Gull Lake, and the Yellow Canary Book Store in Gull Lake. They are priced at $5 each, or three tickets for $10.

The renovations are a planned modernization and expansion of the SWT Lyceum Theatre. The front lobby will be utilizing some unused space next door that will be opened up, offering more room, an updated concession area, and more accessible entryways and washrooms.

Anyone looking to make a personal or corporate donation to the SWT Lyceum Theatre can also reach out to Girodat directly by e-mailing him at lyceumtheatresk@gmail.com. Donations are eligible for receipts for taxation purposes, as the SWT Lyceum Theatre is a registered non-profit.

The 50/50 draw date is set for January 1, 2024.
