A curling team skipped by Cabri's Shaun Meachem earned a win in their first Sask Curling Tour event of the season over the weekend.

The Jeff Chambers-coached team, curling out of Saskatoon's Nutana Curling Club, went undefeated over six matches in the first tour event up in Saskatoon.

In the A Event, Team Meachem defeated Team Kleiter 7-6, Team Kendal 8-2, and Team Armstron 6-0.

Into the Championship Event, Team Meachem thumped Team Bernath 9-1, and once again defeated Team Kleiter, this time 5-3, to earn a spot in the final.

There, it was a 5-1 win over Team Gedak.

The win for Team Meachem spells a berth in the 2020 SaskTel Tankard, which runs late January - early February in Melville.
