The Saskatchewan Health Authority has announced a temporary disruption to Obstetrical Services at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current.

From Friday March 25 at 4 p.m. until Sunday March 27 at 9:30 a.m. surgical and obstetrical consultations will be available, but emergent surgeries and c-sections will not be possible.

Patients that come to the hospital during these hours will be assessed and, if determined to require urgent or emergent surgery, will be transferred to another facility.

As a result of surgical service limitations, the Obstetrics Unit will only be providing low-risk, imminent or emergent deliveries.

Expectant mothers should call the Cypress Regional Hospital at 306-778-9400 and ask to speak to the Women's and Children's Department at the first signs of labour.

If your pregnancy is considered high risk, consult your doctor or call ahead to the hospital.

In the event of an emergency call 9-1-1.
