In the February 1 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 147 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 147 new cases, there are 14 in the Far North West zone, 4 in the Far North East zone, 24 in the North West zone, 3 in the North Central zone, 21 in the North East zone, 13 in the Saskatoon zone, 6 in the Central West zone, 7 in the Central East zone, and 33 in the Regina zone.

There is currently 1 new case in the South West zone, 11 in the South Central zone, and 8 in the South East zone.

There are currently 2 cases with pending residence information.

Ten cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 2 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the Far North East zone, 6 to the North West zone, and 1 to the Saskatoon zone.

That brings the total provincial number of COVID-19 cases to 24,011, of which 2,369 are considered active.

There are currently 10 active cases in the South West zone, all of them in the South West 1 area which includes Shaunavon, Frontier, Eastend, Gull Lake, Maple Creek areas.

The seven-day average of daily new cases in 228 (18.6 new cases per 100,000 population).

There is one outbreak reported in the area. That is at the Assiniboia Union Hospital in the South Central zone. In non-household settings, an outbreak is confirmed when two or more people test positive for COVID-19.

Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. Both reported deaths were in the 80+ age group, both in the North West zone.

That brings the total provincial number of deaths related to COVID-19 to 306.

There are 310 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 21,336.

There are 202 people in hospital. One hundred and seventy-two people are receiving inpatient care - 4 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 19 in the North West zone, 22 in the North Central zone, 2 in the North East zone, 65  in the Saskatoon zone, 10 in the Central East zone, 43 in the Regina zone, 1 in the South Central zone, and 5 in the South East zone.

There are currently 30 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 11 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central East zone and 11 in the Regina zone.

To date, 510,538 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

There were 88 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered  yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 35,447. As of February 1 108% of the doses received have been administered. This overage is due to efficiencies in drawing extra doses from vials of vaccine received.
