After the new Regional Hospital is complete, Swift Current will welcome the Habitat for Healthcare.

Yesterday, guests joined the Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation for the sod turning for the new Habitat for Healthcare.

The ceremony marks the beginning of the construction project that will house the foundation and provide six rooms for family members of patients checked in at the Regional Hospital.

The new building will house offices for the Dr. Noble Irwin Healthcare Foundation as well as the Rotary House, an outpatient hostel for the visiting families of hospital patients.

Construction will begin after New Years and is expected to be complete by late May or early June 2007.

The budget is approximately $500,000, with roughly half of that money already raised.
