The Hunt is Over

Curtis Dagenais turned himself over to police yesterday.

The RCMP says it has no idea where the suspect in the shooting deaths of two Saskatchewan Mounties was hiding out before turning himself in yesterday.

Sergeant Brian Jones says police aren’t embarrassed by the fact Mr. Dagenais managed to elude a massive manhunt.

He says police and the Spiritwood community at large, are just happy he surrendered and that further violence was averted.

At 4:00 in the afternoon yesterday, Dagenais walked into the Spiritwood detachment, accompanied by others from the Mildred area.

He will appear in North Battleford court today facing two counts of first-degree murder.
